Lanvin designer, Alber Elbaz
The rumor mill keeps spinning with whispers that Karl Lagerfeld has not renewed his contract with Chanel, Lagerfeld has been designing Chanel Haute Couture and Ready to Wear since 1983. Said to replace him is Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz. Both houses have denied that their designers are heading anywhere else, but it is certainly fun to speculate. Elbaz would be a logical choice, his take on feminine ease and mature glamour fit in with both Chanel’s heritage and the needs of their current clientele. Lanvin has become one the most covetable names in Paris under Elbaz’s guidance, it is safe to assume that his cache and output would be a great asset to Chanel.
