Gérald Ghislain, a French gastronomer turned perfumer, started his perfume venture in 1999 after training at ISIPCA (Institut Supérieur International du Parfum, de la Cosmétique et de L’Aromatique ). Histoires de Parfums was born in 2000 with twelve scents created through inspirational characters – each fragrance is identified by its character’s birth date. His muses range from Mata Hari to Colette to George Sand and Jules Verne. Each perfume is the embodiment of an illusionary encyclopedia, a poetic atlas in which one can freely travel. Our favorite, ‘1969’ is a unisex fragrance inspired by a revolutionary year in history, with innocent hints of peach and amber, plus the depth of coffee and chocolate, reminiscent of the sexual revolution and Woodstock.
